Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what personal data Amivo ("Platform") collects, why it is processed, how long it is kept, and what rights its users have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The data controller is the operator of the Amivo Platform. The final, publicly published version of this text will state the full legal name of the operator, registration number, registered address, and a contact email for data-protection matters.

2. What data we collect

• Registration data: nickname, email address, password (stored only in encrypted form);
• Profile data: gender, who you are looking for, age group, city, bio, interests, profile photo;
• Usage data: "like"/"pass" actions, matches, message content between members, last-seen time;
• Technical data: IP address and browser information, needed for service security and troubleshooting.

3. Purposes and legal basis

We process data on the following bases:

• performance of a contract — to provide registration, browsing, matching, and messaging features;
• legitimate interest — to ensure the Platform's security, protect against fraud and abuse, and investigate reports of violations;
• consent — where such consent is requested separately (e.g. optional email notifications).

4. Who can see your data

Your profile (nickname, photo, bio, interests) is visible only to logged-in Platform members — it is not published publicly online and is not indexed by search engines. Chat messages are visible only to the participants of that chat. Your real email address is never shown to other members.

5. How long we keep data

We keep data for as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account in settings, your personal data and content are permanently removed from the live database; any remaining technical backup copies, if they exist, are deleted within a reasonable, predetermined period in line with the hosting provider's backup cycle.

6. Data recipients and transfers

We do not sell your personal data or pass it on to third parties for marketing purposes. Data may only be shared with service providers essential to operating the Platform (e.g. our server/hosting provider), under data-processing agreements that require them to comply with GDPR. Any transfer of data outside the European Economic Area would only take place with the safeguards required by GDPR in place.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to maintain your login session and to remember your cookie-notice choice. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies without separate consent.

8. Your rights

• access your data and receive a copy of it;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of your data ("the right to be forgotten") — you can delete your account yourself at any time in settings;
• restrict or object to processing in certain cases;
• data portability;
• withdraw given consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal;
• lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt).

9. Children's data

The Platform is intended only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if we become aware of such an account, we remove it immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. We will inform users of material changes on the site.
